“Our story” is “Darlene’s story” My destiny! As a little girl I remember always wanting a pretty pair of new shoes or a cute outfit with a new little purse. Often I would get pretty shoes and clothes but had to make a purse from old jeans. I developed a passion for sewing and crafts from watching my mother make our school clothes. She would use various fabrics and coordinate textures. Looking back, my mother has been my gentle guide in so many ways.
I’ve taught young girls to sew over the years but during a particular session we brainstormed about solving design problems on denim purses. Somehow the quest was very satisfying and from it, Young Swanky was born.
Some may look at the Young Swanky brand and question the length we go to in order to bring little girls a designer purse. Yes, our fantastic packaging is the swankiest you will find in girls accessories. Yes, it’s intentional.
